Races and Governments

Every major and minor race of the Star Trek universe that appeared in the original series is represented -- every planet, every ship, every government, from the Klingons to the war between Eminar VII and Vendikar to the Morgs and the Eymorgs. Additionally, those races that are prominent in the later movies and t.v. series are likely to be represented as well -- for instance, the Cardassians and even the Ferengi, Breen and Son'a.

If a race's first contact was established in TNG (e.g. the Ferengi, the Husnock), then it's likely you'll have difficulty surviving an encounter with their ships. If, on the other hand, they clearly had relations with the Federation prior to TNG but no date was established, they'll be of a fairly low-threat level (e.g. the Tzenkethi, the Cardassians, the Talarians).
