Frozen Glitter
Desperately in need of a re-recording, most notably of the guitar, Frozen Glitter was inspired by "a dance", and was the occasion for me to try to make the music truly meet with the lyrics. The lyrics tell the story of a dance that goes on through the night and adapts to the different styles of music.
Frozen glitter on the wall
Ballroom dancing
You look kind so I offer my hand
And you smile since I don’t step on your feet
Keep it flowing
We stick to the rhythm of the beat of the band
And though I know it never could work out
I feel I must tell you I like
the way you look
Hand in hand we jump and spin
Get them watching
Impressive acrobatic display
Had I known that my partner would be good
Bright and dazzling
I would have practised for at least a day
So though I know it never could work out
I feel I must tell you I like
the way you move
Frozen glitter fills the sky
Moon is missing
There’s no one save the music and you
And we dance through the early morning hours
Eyes permitting
My heart has skipped a beat out of two
‘cause though I know it never could work out
I feel I must tell you I like
the way you smile
Was it just a dream of mine
Something fleeting?
The night is stale and I walk home alone
And I know should we ever meet again
I would try an’
Apologise for being so error-prone
‘cause I thought it never could work out
I should have told you that I liked
you that night
at first sight
with all my might
